One of the Six Yoga
The six yoga systems consist of Hatha, Raja, Bhakti, Jnana, Karma and Kriya. Among these, Kriya yoga is noteworthy because of its creation of self awareness. People face lots of issues due to lack of self control & self awareness. Practicing Kriya yoga brings calmness and control over body & mind by removing all the obstructions involving body and mind. According to philosopher Almog. J, (2001, What am I? ; Oxford University Press) the concept of mind-body problem can be well understood through self-awareness. Thus, Kriya yoga facilitates spirituality, religion and support the philosophical concept too.
